PASTORAL MESSAGE
OF CARDINAL MARC OUELLET

Cardinal Marc Ouellet, Archbishop of Quebec, dated his “Pastoral Message Concerning the Army of Mary” April 4, 2005. In this Message, he ratified the Doctrinal Note made public on August 15, 2001, by the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops (CCCB).

Now, the Doctrinal Note of August 15, 2001, was a notably biased document and many people pointed out its lack of exactness and its falsehoods. It is unfortunate that it is being referred to again in an attempt to evaluate the Army of Mary.

It did not take long for our members to react to the Pastoral Message written by Cardinal Ouellet whom we respect in spite of the position he has adopted. The history of the Church mentions many cases in which authentic servants or handmaids of the Lord were condemned by high religious authorities and then later exonerated. “The disciple is not above the Master,” Christ told His Apostles.

Here is the text of Cardinal Ouellet’s Pastoral Message followed by our comments.
