In the context of the Churchs mission a large share of the responsibilities is entrusted to the lay faithful, in communion with all the other members of the People of God. The collaboration of the laity is not only desired, it is demanded.
The more place God has in our life, the more liberty and facility do we have. The Army of Mary proves this to us constantly; it astonishes even its directors by its vitality, on both the spiritual and material planes.
The Army of Mary begins by instilling in its members an ardent love for Christ the Savior, in developing in each one a sense for the Church which permits him to affirm his faith and live it more intensely. The contact with God, in a life of intimate union, is the sap which fortifies beings, in contributing to the vitality of the apostolate.
When we understand that it is Christ and His Holy Mother who are associating us with their Work of love, we then bear love to others in the charity which sanctifies. Possessing God: that is the strength or vitality of the apostle (Marie-Paule, Le Royaume, no. 69, July 1989).
Since it has been founded, the Army of Mary has seen hundreds of Centers of spiritual animation springing up in Canada and abroad. The conversions can no longer be counted. As a result of our days of prayer, souls take advantage of the sacrament of reconciliation and partake in the Eucharist. The liturgy, in the respect of the norms set by the Holy Church, and Gregorian chant have once again been given a place of honor. Pilgrimages, catechism courses for adults and young people, spiritual direction given by priests collaborating with the Work on a volunteer basis, the monthly paper which provides enriching spiritual reading material for its readers, the publication of numerous brochures in order to shed light on the attacks directed against the Works, there you have a general look at our spiritual activities to which are added specific works of charity.
