WELCOME SITE PLAN LIFE OF LOVE THE WORKS THE LADY E-MAIL	CATECHISM COURSES The catechism courses offered at the Center of the Immaculate in Quebec City have reached an extensive public since they were first recorded on cassettes in 1979. In order to acquire a better knowledge and understanding of our beautiful Catholic religion and of the Church’s teachings, catechism courses are offered on a weekly basis to the Knights of Mary.

Begun in 1976, the catechism courses given at the Center of the Immaculate by Father Philippe Roy have now reached a vast public because they were recorded on audio cassettes, as of 1979, and then, between September 1982 and February 1988, on video cassettes.

After Father Philippe’s death on February 22, 1988, Father Victor Rizzi continued giving these weekly courses. Two hundred audio cassettes (60 minutes) and over one hundred video cassettes (120 minutes) given by Father Philippe Roy present various points of the catechism, biblical history and the spirituality of the Work. A further two hundred or more video cassettes, each offering four half-hour lectures by Father Victor Rizzi continue this rich teaching, touching upon a variety of topics. The majority of Father Philippe Roy’s courses on audio cassette have been translated by a lay member of the Work and are available in English, while translations of some of Father Victor’s lectures are also available, but on audio cassettes only.

Since 1988 and after Father Philippe Roy’s death, Father Victor Rizzi has transmitted to the public a rich teaching touching upon a variety of topics.

Catechism Courses for Young People

In the different Centers of the Army of Mary in Canada and abroad, adult members either religious or lay people, offer catechism courses to children. There are at times between 30, 40 or 80 youngsters, divided into different groups according to their age and their religious knowledge, who take advantage of this religious education.

Appreciation

As all those who knew him would declare – and they were many –, Father Philippe Roy literally captivated his listeners. His lectures were an inexhaustible gold mine of riches, of truths of the faith and of teaching according to the doctrine of the Catholic Church for any soul seeking to progress in the spiritual life.

Below is an excerpt from a letter addressed to Father Philippe concerning his catechism classes, an appreciation chosen from among the many sent to us:

“The courses you give each week are absolutely wonderful and they do a lot of good to all those the Blessed Virgin has called to attend them in order to hear the revealed truths of our holy religion, truths expressed in a simple, clear, precise and concise vocabulary.
