DAYS OF PRAYER

Since the day it was founded at the shrine of Our Lady of Etchemin on August 28, 1971, the Army of Mary has increased its days of prayer and penance.

May 22, 1977, Cap-de-la-Madeleine – The crowd, made up
of thousands of people, spilled over even into the aisles.

These gatherings where we pray, whether it be during processions outside or within churches or large halls, are a bond of unity in an activity which is contemplative and which uplifts souls.

Love enkindles hearts and forms them to the liturgical and sacramental life, and the whole contributes to elevating families and society, so much so that at the end of these gatherings where God and Mary are the first served, a consoling remark is constantly repeated: “It was a day from heaven!”

The encounter with God forms “adorers in spirit and truth”, and this is the key to our happiness which is a reflection of God’s Heart. This happiness is both calm and exaltation: “My soul exalts in the Lord, exult, my spirit, in God my Savior!” (Magnificat).

And prayer becomes an attraction, an encounter, a joy – an entry into the joy of the Lord, for joy is the fruit of love.
