RETREATS AND RECOLLECTIONS

“It is said that love is the heart of the apostolate. From whence are we to draw this flame which should set on fire the heart of the apostle? First of all, from the Immaculate and Sorrowful Heart of Mary, the heart of her who was chosen to be the Mother of God, and who, declaring herself His handmaid, subjected herself to His will, humble and always ready to respond to His divine calls. Enraptured by such dispositions, the Holy Spirit, who personifies the Love of the Father and the Son, took possession of her soul to make of it His shrine and to fill it with graces. (...)
The Immaculate

“Behold the source from which we are to drink, and Mary will be our support, especially during our apostolic life. So the Holy Spirit dwells in the hearts of all those who, like Mary, leave themselves open to His action, and He pours into them supernatural charity which sets us on fire with love for God and souls. Here we have the secret of a fruitful apostolate.

“But, let us not forget that we must pray and plunge ourselves into humility in order to overcome our slothfulness and our selfishness, without complaining of privations, of sufferings, of accusations of all sorts: in short, we must hasten to rid ourselves of the old man to the end that our soul may open itself wide to the inflowing of grace and may abandon itself with docility to the action of the Holy Spirit.”

(Marie-Paule, Le Royaume, no. 42, June 1986)

Throughout the entire year and in addition to the days of prayer organized by the Eucharistic and Marian Center Spiri-Maria in Lac-Etchemin and by the different Works at a regional or local level (first Saturdays of the month, local meetings), the Knights of Mary can seek a spiritual renewal by participating in recollections preached by the priests Sons of Mary at Spiri-Maria or in different localities. These retreats which vary in length between one and five days depending on the availability of each one, nourish the interior life of the members and sustain them in their apostolate.

Over the summer, retreats are organized for young people, offering them an opportunity for a spiritual renewal and helping the young boys and girls discover God’s will in their regard when it comes to choosing a vocation, be it marriage, celibacy or the religious life. These retreats, organized for different age groups, include conferences, times of prayer, reflection and silence, as well as times for fraternal exchanges.
