SEWING AND LITURGICAL VESTMENTS WORKSHOP
|
The sewing workshop is located at Mariacel, 2380 du Mont-Thabor in Quebec City and consists of two separate departments: the liturgical vestments workshop and the one for religious garments.
At the liturgical vestments workshop, the Daughters of Mary prepare chasubles and stoles for the different liturgical periods in the year; as well as copes, mitres, altar cloths, tabernacle veils, liturgical linens with embroidered patterns, missal covers and plain or embroidered bookmarks for altar missals, banners, medallions (painted on silk cloth) for liturgical vestments (with a choice of personalized patterns).
At the sewing workshop, other Sisters make garments for the religious: albs, surplices, clergyman shirts, cinctures, tunics, scapulars, etc. Likewise, they make garments for the Sisters: white dresses, veils, belts, etc. They also sew the choir habits for the members of the Family of the Sons and Daughters of Mary and the Oblate-Patriots.
Depending on their availability and upon request, they make embroidered baptismal trousseaux, with a variety of models and price ranges.
