Catechism Courses
Several Sons and Daughters of Mary exercise an apostolate among young people through catechism courses. That is the case, for example, every Friday evening during the school year at the Center of the Immaculate in Quebec City.

Furthermore, some Sisters have gathered together the children in their neighborhood in order to teach them catechism. This apostolate has also borne fruit with the parents who have taken up religious practice again.

Retreats
During the summer, retreats are organized for the young people. These permit a spiritual return to the source and offer the young adolescents a means of discovering God’s will in their regard in the choice of their vocation, be it marriage, the celibate life or the religious life.

Every year, retreats are organized which permit a spiritual
return to the source for young people of various ages.

These retreats, organized for different age groups, consist of talks, times for prayer, reflection and silence, as well as times for fraternal exchanges.

Youth Camps
During the summer holidays, youth camps are organized by members of the Work, with a considerable contribution to this endeavour being made by the Sons of Mary. Lodged in a wing of the Sons of Mary’s residence at Lac-Etchemin, these young people, in different age groups, spend two weeks familiarizing themselves with various practical tasks. While some are building a greenhouse, others learn the basics of gardening, the culinary arts, household tasks, the bakery, carpentry, electronics, painting and the making of items in plexiglass, etc, under the watchful eye of volunteer parents.

Summer camps allow young people to familiarize themselves with various practical tasks,
while at the same time participating in some sporting and recreational activities.

Alternating this with a few sporting and recreational activities, while at the same time leading a family and spiritual life, the young people appreciate these camps in which some have discovered a joy in working as they acquired practical experience in various areas.
