IN THE SERVICE OF THE WORK |
Secretariats and Workshops of the Work
A life without work is a dismal life that bears no fruit. It is as a result of our manner of loving that we can exercise a fruitful apostolate. The more we are united to God, the stronger love is, the more fruitful is the apostolate. And then, the more love gives us joy, because everything is filled with charity, of a charity that is not content with loving God and souls through concrete actions, but one which motivates us to give of ourselves completely for the spiritual welfare of our brothers and sisters in Christ (Marie-Paule, Le Royaume, no. 49, March 1987).With the founding and extension of the Works, new secretariats were necessary. Several Community members are at the service of the Army of Mary and its associated Works which require personnel in its various secretariats: administration, publishing, responding to the mail, the bookstore, the organization of pilgrimages, etc.
The Foundress at the Generalate of the Works
Until the year 2000, with the opening of the Eucharistic and Marian Center Spiri-Maria at Lac-Etchemin, the Mother House on 26th Street in Quebec City was the “headquarters” of the Works.
From her office, Mother Paul-Marie oversees the organization and development of the Works. Each day brings with it an uninterrupted succession of different demands: the writing and supervision of texts for books, the Works paper or the ceremonies, the organization of pilgrimages, the many letters waiting for a reply, thousands of details to be dealt with regarding internal administration, in the midst of which are the telephone calls, the visits, etc. |

Mother House at Lac-Etchemin
The opening on March 25, 2000, of the Eucharistic and Marian Center Spiri-Maria which is both a place for perpetual adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and a retreat house where the men and women who wish to renew themselves spritually in an atmosphere of prayer and recollection are welcomed, gave a totally different direction to Mary’s Work. The new Mother House was estabished here, from which the five Works founded by Mother Paul-Marie now radiate internationally.
Having resided there from May 19, 2000 to February 22, 2002, Mother Paul-Marie was then to establish her place of residenc at the Residence of the Lady, built to the left of the Eucharistic and Marian Center Spiri-Maria. From there, she continues to oversee the general organization and the development of the Works.
