SECRETARIATS OF THE WORK

“Happy the soul that is continuously in touch with heaven through repeated outpourings of love. It thus ennobles the humblest physical activity to the point where the greyness of daily life gives way to an overflowing, interior joy, and this, because there is intimacy and co-operation with Love” (Life of Love III, chapter 38).

With the founding and extension of the Works, new secretariats were necessary, requiring personnel. Thus several Community members are at the service of the Army of Mary and its associated Works.

Under the direction of Mother Paul-Marie, the Daughters of Mary at the International Center are actively involved in various areas. They are responsible for the accounting and general administration of the Works and the Community, the secretariats of the Family of the Sons and Daughters of Mary and the Oblate-Patriots, the registrations for and the organization of pilgrimages. In co-operation with lay members who are part of the household, some Daughters of Mary collaborate in the preparation of the paper Le Royaume which provides a spiritual formation to members and informs them of developments in the Work.

Sister Lise and André Bélanger looking after the mail and receptionist duties...Charlotte Bélanger working for the paper...Sister Monique working on the books...Sister Gisèle revising...

Sister Suzanne doing desktop publishing...Sister Aline, graphic artist...Sister Claire at the archives...Sister Micheline responding to correspondence...

Sister Jocelyne at the travel agency...Sister Françoise working for the Generalate of the Community...Sister Chantal, responsible for public relations...Sister Rosalie and Earl Massecar working on English translations...
As many different faces as there are aptitudes, but they have one point in common:
all work as secretaries at the International Center of the Works.

In the area of publishing, secretaries prepare books, pamphlets and other writings on computer, while others are responsible for revision, correction and translation. Some Sisters reply to the voluminous mail, bringing support and encouragement to the people who seek our aid.
