Marie-Paule hears for the first time: “THE ARMY OF MARY”.
1957
For a long time the Lord has been telling Marie-Paule: “ONE DAY YOUR LIFE WILL BE WRITTEN. IT WILL BE ENTITLED ‘LIFE OF LOVE’.”
September. After thirteen years of marriage and in order to protect the children, separation takes place as ordered by Marie-Paule’s spiritual director, her doctor, the curate of the parish of Saint-Georges-Est, in Beauce, and the director of Social Services. After three days of refusing, Marie-Paule finally consents to the children being placed in a boarding school, while she goes to live with her mother in Lac-Etchemin.
1958
February. Marie-Paule receives the order to write her life.
From April 20 to 27. During a week Mary gives a course in spirituality to Marie-Paule. Mary first shows her the image of a possible event; then she manifests the wish, and finally gives Marie-Paule the command to act.
April 28. The Lord announces to Marie-Paule “THE HOUR OF CRUCIFIXION”.
From May 1 to 7. Marie-Paule “receives” details of the mission that is being entrusted to her.

Decree of Official Recognition of the Army of Mary

The Assault
Once the Army of Mary had been raised, it worked in a positive manner, accomplishing good to combat evil. And that was done in harmony with local bishops. But then the fight intensified against the Army of Mary which would be recognized by this trait: its fidelity to Rome and the Pope. This fight was carried on by the very ones whose mission it is to safeguard true values.

Campaign of Defamation

1978
June 4. The national feast day of the Army of Mary, with the Ark of the Covenant, in Notre-Dame Church, Montreal, marks “THE BEGINNING OF MARY’S TRIUMPH”.

1981
May 31. Founding of the Family and the Community of the Sons and Daughters of Mary at the International Center of the Army of Mary, in Quebec City. Marie-Paule takes the name, Mother Paul-Marie.

1984
May 30. Eleventh pilgrimage to Europe, assembling at Lourdes about two thousand Army of Mary members from various countries.
1986
January 1. His Excellency Archbishop Mario Peressin, Archbishop of L’Aquila, consents, at the Holy See’s request, to take the Community of the Sons of Mary under his protection.
May 25. First priestly ordination of a Son of Mary by Pope John Paul II, in Rome, Italy.
August 15. Founding of the Oblate-Patriots at the International Center of the Army of Mary.
December. Marie-Paule announces “The Year of the Crucifixion”, the title of her editorial published in the February 1987 issue of the paper Le Royaume.
1987
April 15 (Wednesday of Holy Week). Marie-Paule receives from Cardinal Louis-Albert Vachon a letter summoning her to the office of the Archbishop of Quebec, along with the copy of a letter which Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger, Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, sent to the Archbishop of Quebec, leaving Cardinal Vachon “completely free to take the measures [he] will deem necessary, without excluding the possibility of suppressing the Association ‘ad normam iuris’ ”. This is the first denial by the Church.
May 4. On the basis of false accusations, Cardinal Vachon revokes, by decree, the decree that had established the Army of Mary. Authorities in Rome advise those in charge of the Army of Mary to present a recourse. The Secretariat of State directs this recourse to the Pontifical Council for the Laity.
May 7. At a press conference held at the Center of the Immaculate in Quebec City, Marie-Paule and some members of the Army of Mary reply to questions raised by journalists from the various medias (radio, television and newspapers).
May 30. Nine Sons of Mary are ordained to the priesthood by His Exc. Archbishop Peressin, in L’Aquila, Italy.

First Denial by the Church

Press Conference (May 7, 1987)

1988
March 31 (Holy Thursday). Marie-Paule receives the decree of the preceding March 25 signed by the President of the Pontifical Council for the Laity, Cardinal Eduardo Pironio, ratifying the Archbishop of Quebec’s decision of May 4, 1987. This judgment constitutes the Church’s second denial of God’s Work.
The Year of the Crucifixion”: a liturgical year has elapsed between the reception, on Wednesday of Holy Week, 1987, of the letter of Cardinal Ratzinger, Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, and the reception, on Holy Thursday 1988, of the letter of Cardinal Pironio (Pontifical Council for the Laity).
Marie-Paule passes along another “indication”: “NOW WILL FOLLOW THE INDETERMINATE PERIOD OF THE IMMOLATION” (Le Royaume, Important Issue, April 8, 1988, p. 4 [French ed.]).
Given the irregularities vitiating the recent decree, a Vatican authority asks the Army of Mary to present a recourse to the Supreme Tribunal of the Apostolic Signatura in Rome.
August 13. Three Sons of Mary are ordained to the priesthood by His Exc. Archbishop Peressin, at L’Aquila, Italy.

Second Denial by the Church

September 8. A Son of Mary is ordained to the priesthood by His Exc. Archbishop Peressin, at Lourdes in France.
1991
April 20. The Plenary rejects the case in appeal by a Definitive Decree. Thus does the Church’s judgment confirm the 1951 words of the Lord: “IT WILL ALL TERMINATE IN COURT.” In fact, 33 years, to the day, separate the announcement of the sorrowful mission (April 28, 1958) and the end of that mission by the Church’s verdict: Redemption: 33 years – Co-Redemption: 33 years.
June 9. Marie-Paule’s soul penetrates the Living Light that is God-Light.
June 22. Marie-Paule “receives” the explanation of the above grace revealing the meaning of the word “reincarnation”.

July. The Daughters of Mary open a novitiate in Green Valley, Ontario.
1997
April 1. Georges Cliche, Marie-Paule’s husband, dies. Georges’ passing frees Mother Paul-Marie from all bonds, allowing her to fulfill the desire she had in her youth of becoming a religious.

It also becomes the International Center of the Community of the Lady of All Peoples and the five Works it encompasses (the Army of Mary, the Family and the Community of the Sons and Daughters of Mary, the Oblate-Patriots and the Marialys Institute).
2000
April 12. Note of a disciplinary nature from the Archbishop of Quebec, His Excellency Maurice Couture “regarding the setting up of the Spiri Maria Residence”, in which the Archbishop reproaches the Foundress, Mother Paul-Marie, with having had Spiri-Maria built without the permission of the local Ordinary (the Archbishop of Quebec). On April 17, Mother Paul-Marie replied to Archbishop Couture. While raising certain points in the Archbishop’s letter, she emphasized, among other things, that according to canon 1752 of the Code of Canon Law, one must “keep in mind the salvation of souls, which in the Church must always be the supreme law”. (These two letters are published in the paper Le Royaume [“The Kingdom”], no. 140, Special Issue of May 13, 2000, pp. 8-9.) Then a theologian wrote to the Foundress on this same subject on December 11, 2002, to give his opinion. He demonstrated, based on the Code of Canon Law, that the Army of Mary did not need to seek authorization before building the Eucharistic and Marian Center Spiri-Maria. (This letter is published in the paper Le Royaume [“The Kingdom”], no. 158, November-December 2002, pp. 25-26.)
2000
May 15. The Archdiocese of Quebec’s diocesan review Pastorale Québec published the Disciplinary Note of April 12, regarding the Army of Mary, as well as a report Archbishop Couture had requested a committee prepare on the Work, although the committee never met the Work’s directors. Once again, the Army of Mary was judged without it having been given the opportunity to present its version of the facts, which are quite different from those presented in the report, the falseness of which would be shown.
2000
May 23.Archbishop Couture gave a press conference on the subject of the Army of Mary, reproaching it “its way of promoting Marian devotion”. On the other hand, he declared: “We must acknowledge that when one looks at the fundamental principles of the Army of Mary, it is very Catholic: devotion to the Holy Father, devotion to the Eucharist and a Marian devotion. There is nothing more Catholic than that and I am in complete agreement with that.”
2000
July 8. A Quebec bishop who wished to remain anonymous sent a letter to his confreres in the episcopate and addressed a copy to Mother Paul-Marie. In his letter, he reproached the bishops of not recognizing in the Army of Mary “the work of God Himself”, declaring: “But how is it that bishops and archbishops, cardinals even, are fooled in such a manner by the Spirit of Darkness? For, in my estimation, there is no way of describing this in other terms. The reason for this, I will give it to you, here and now: THE REFUSAL OF THE SUPERNATURAL.” (This letter is published in the paper Le Royaume [“The Kingdom”], no. 144, July-August 2000, pp. 15-17.)
2001
August 15. The Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishop (CCCB) spreads through Internet a Doctrinal Note on the Army of Mary which it accuses of spreading doctrinal errors. The falseness of this document is shown by the many members of the Army of Mary who come to the defence of the Work unjustly treated.
