SONS AND DAUGHTERS OF MARY

In 1981, in a letter addressed to the members of the Family of the Sons and Daughters of Mary, Mother Paul-Marie defined their mission in this way:

Dear Sons and Daughters of Mary,

To be a member of the Family of the Sons and Daughters of Mary means to serve. To receive the blue mantle as an honor or achievement is to parody the true aims of self-giving and service done in humility and true charity. To pledge oneself a Son or Daughter of Mary is to consecrate oneself to Mary, yes, but it is also to become her Knight-servant, ready to risk one’s life for one’s Lady who leads in the combat of the Latter Times for the restoration of Christ to the world and to bring into the KINGDOM the faithful servants. United by the strongest of bonds, tenacious in upholding the true principles of the Catholic faith, they labor to build and extend the Catholic Church, whom they love as their Mother.

In 1971, God gave the Army of Mary to the Church to preserve its spiritual and moral values. It threw its soldiers into the defence of the Pope in his task of proclaiming divine and human precepts and of enlightening those who seek the light, while the scourge of false doctors continues to envelop in confusion and darkness the Christian people worn by combat, afflicted, desolate.

But the Church is increasingly menaced, and so Mary constantly adds to her whiteclad army. Evils multiply: apostasy, religious defection, persecution, tribulation, anguish, calamity. But God only gives more....

Upon the Sons and Daughters of Mary, conscious of a soul’s value, is bestowed the great privilege of being “co-redeemers”. In a message to Maria Valtorta in The Poem of the Man-God, a work recommended by Pope Pius XII, Jesus spoke in these terms:

“I will now tell you something which is true, and yet may seem blasphemy to My enemies. But you are My friends. I am speaking with particular regard to you, My disciples already chosen, and to you all who are listening to Me. The angels, pure and perfect spirits, living and rejoicing in the light of the Most Holy Trinity, although perfect, are inferior to you men, who are far from Heaven, and they admit their inferiority. Their inferiority consists in their impossibility to sacrifice themselves and suffer to cooperate in the redemption of man. What do you think of that? God does not take an angel and say to him: ‘Be the redeemer of mankind!’ But He takes His own Son. And although the Son’s sacrifice is of incalculable value and His power is infinite, the Father, knowing that there is still something missing from the amount of merits to be opposed to the amount of sins that mankind accumulates hourly, does not take other angels to fill the measure and does not say to them: ‘Suffer to imitate Christ’, but He says that to you, men. Such is His fatherly goodness that He makes no difference between the Son of His love and the children of His power. He says to you: ‘Suffer, sacrifice yourselves, be like My Lamb. Be co-redeemers...!’” (Volume I, p. 509).

The blessing given the Sons and Daughters of Mary is the ultimate grace given for our times, for this age of perversion when Satan triumphs on earth as in hell. But this time is drawing to an end. Mary will triumph; she said so at Fatima. She will triumph through her children whom she is leading to victory. Moreover, her defenders of the Faith, as are her slaves, will be wrapped in the protection of heaven. Let us stand firmly united in the Hearts of Jesus and Mary.

Mother Paul-Marie
