THE FAMILY OF THE
|
Since 1971, many members of the Army of Mary, having rediscovered the spiritual values that marked their childhood, are returning to a joyful faith, opening their hearts to a lively hope, to a purified love, drawing their families with them in the simple freedom of children of God, for religious practice encourages fraternal exchanges, and everything revolves around the same focal point: the spiritual life so rich in consolations and luminous paths.
The children have since grown. Religious vocations have blossomed and a thirst for the infinite attracts them. Similarly, others, after an upright courtship, envisage marriage and the founding of a family with little beings to cherish.

Members of all ages and all walks of life have a place within this large religious Family.
Thus it was that, on May 31, 1981, the Family and the Community of the Sons and Daughters of Mary were founded in Quebec, two gems offered to the Church. These Works were raised for the renewal of the family the cell of the Church and of society , the religious life and the priesthood.
![]() Thanks to the Family of the Sons and Daughters of Mary, many families have rediscovered authentic values. |
Another beautiful story of love in which families, looking towards the light and living off eternity because they are rivetted to spiritual and religious beauties, will experience, amid the vicissitudes of daily life, the joys of abandonment to the will of God and live off them. The cross will be present, but it will bear fruit because of the Eucharist which gives its worth to the family and community life. |
Different Branches
The Family of the Sons and Daughters of Mary is composed of several branches:
- the Community Members: the Community of the Sons and Daughters of Mary;

- the Auxiliary Members (lay people): divided into three groups (Benjamins, Adolescents and Adults);

The Choir Habit, Miraculous Medal and Motto
At the time of their reception, the members of the Family receive a choir habit to be worn for ceremonies organized by this Work: the royal mantle in blue and gold (the mantelet for Adolescents and the cape for Benjamins), the Miraculous Medal and a new name. The Sons and Daughters of Mary wish to make their own their Foundress motto who, in 1961, wrote: Your will is my joy, O my God! I am all yours. In order to adapt this motto to both the Sons and Daughters of Mary throughout the world, it was translated into Latin: Totus Tuus.
