PILGRIMAGE IN HONOR OF THE CHURCH
The Holy Land and Italy

September 2 to 18, 1980

The pilgrimage in honor of the Church from September 2 to 18, 1980, with visits to the Holy Land and Italy remains unforgettable for everyone because of the many events which, in the simplicity and wisdom of God, were fulfilled during that time.

From September 3 to 9, 1980, the pilgrims visited the Holy Land
and its most important shrines.

After a week in the Holy Land during which the pilgrims visited the most important shrines, a triduum of prayer brought them to Saint Peter’s Basilica in Rome, fulfilling the “orders given” to Marie-Paule several months earlier.

On September 14, during the ceremony of the Army of Mary in the apse of the basilica, a large painting of the Lady of All Peoples was unveiled. A banner and another smaller painting representing the Lady were also borne in procession.

On that day, the five hundred Army of Mary pilgrims formed the “M” of the Miraculous Medal in Saint Peter’s Square.
