PILGRIMAGE IN HONOR OF
THE APOCALYPSE
France and Italy

May 30 to June 15, 1984

From May 30 to June 15, 1984, the Army of Mary organized the pilgrimage in honor of the Apocalypse, thus leading more than nine hundred pilgrims through France and Italy.

the United States, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Singapore and Venezuela.

On June 2, in the Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary at Lourdes, a special homage was paid to Raoul Auclair for the invaluable contribution he made the Army of Mary since his arrival in Canada in 1977.

On June 4, during Mass at the Grotto, Marie-Paule received a message from the Blessed Virgin concerning the Sons of Mary who wished to become priests and who were not being accepted for studies by any institution in Quebec except if they agreed to leave the Army of Mary and the Community.

So the Blessed Virgin said to Marie-Paule: “ALL THESE YOUNG PEOPLE WILL STUDY IN ROME.”

The following day, in the Basilica of Our Lady of the Guard in Marseille, Mary confirmed the information “given” to Marie-Paule with regard to the Sons of Mary, providing even further details:

“THEY WILL STUDY IN ROME, AT THE ANGELICUM. THEY COULD STAY WITH THE PASSIONIST FATHERS.” And Mary indicated the means to be taken to cover the costs of their studies. Marie-Paule knew nothing of the Passionist Fathers’ activities, except that they had a beautiful church in Rome.

Upon their arrival in Rome on June 7, Father Denis Laprise went to the Angelicum where he met the university’s Secretary General, and the Sons of Mary were immediately accepted as students. The same openness was then witnessed with the Passionist Fathers, the Superior General having just taken the decision to welcome students in their large monastery. In the fall, fifteen Sons of Mary, under the direction of Father Denis Laprise, would go to Rome to study for the priesthood.

On June 9, during a ceremony held at Saint Peter’s Basilica in Rome, Father Philippe Roy was received as the Work’s Marian Father.
