PILGRIMAGE IN HONOR OF
THE HOLY CROSS
Italy

September 16 to 25, 1987

The pilgrimage to Italy in honor of the Holy Cross took place in September 1987.

Besides the ordination to the diaconate of four Sons of Mary at L’Aquila, two other events are of particular importance and demonstrate, once again, the solicitude with which heaven watches over its Work.

A ceremony had been set to take place in Saint Peter’s Basilica on September 21; however, when, on Sunday, September 20, Father Denis Laprise went to the Basilica’s sacristy to confirm the group’s presence for the next day, he was categorically refused by the person in charge, even though the reservation had been made and accepted seven months in advance. Back at the hotel, he informed Marie-Paule of this fact who simply replied: “Let us obey; we will go elsewhere. Mary will certainly find a solution.”

The fraternal meeting scheduled for that morning then began in a joyous atmosphere, while silence was maintained on this disappointing fact. Immediately, after having turned over the microphone to a Father, Marie-Paule “heard”: “YOU MUST GO TO SAINT PETER’S BASILICA TOMORROW; YOU WILL HAVE A PROTECTOR.”

And in fact, the next morning Monsignor Colino opened wide the doors to the Army of Mary. Furthermore, he even asked the sixty-three Sons of Mary present to take their places in the choir loft and to handle the singing.

In the afternoon, as the pilgrims were all gathered in the church of Our Lady of La Salette for a solemn ceremony, Mary asked Marie-Paule: “ARE YOU READY TO ACCEPT THE IMMOLATION?”

“Yes, I want all that you want,” she replied.
