PILGRIMAGE IN HONOR OF
THE TRIUMPHANT CROSS
Greece, Turkey and Italy
September 3 to 17, 1991

From September 3 to 17, 1991, more than four hundred Canadian, American and French pilgrims participated in the twentieth international pilgrimage, visiting on this occasion Greece, Turkey and Italy, a pilgrimage in honor of the Triumphant Cross.

After a stopover in Greece, the pilgrims boarded the “World Renaissance” for a three-day cruise which His Excellency Most Rev. Joseph Molinari, Bishop of Rieti, Italy, also joined.

A first stop was scheduled for Ephesus in Turkey where an open-air Mass was celebrated next to Mary’s house. It was an impressive ceremony, and just as impressive were the places visited afterwards, all these locations speaking to us of the presence of Saint John, the beloved disciple, who, at Patmos, wrote the Book of Revelation.

The "World Renaissance"Mass next to Mary’s house
From September 6 to 9, 1991, the pilgrims participated in a wonderful cruise on the Aegean Sea.
One of their stops was at Ephesus in Turkey where they visited Mary’s house.

On September 9, the pilgrims left Greece on their way to Italy where on September 12, more than a thousand pilgrims (including those from the second option) attended the ordination to the priesthood of three Sons of Mary.

But the highlight of this pilgrimage remained the ceremony in honor of the Army of Mary’s twentieth anniversary, held on September 14 at the Basilica of Sancta Maria in Rieti under the honorary presidency of His Excellency Bishop Joseph Molinari.

This ceremony had been “requested” by heaven more than a year in advance, along with the fraternal gathering which followed in the afternoon in the Papal Hall of the Bishop’s House.
