PILGRIMAGE IN HONOR OF
MARY CO-REDEMPTRIX
Italy
May 22 to June 2, 1992

The pilgrims before the Basilica at Teramo
Some of the more than 1,000 pilgrims before the Basilica
of San Gabriele dell’Addolorata at Teramo

From May 22 to June 2, 1992, the pilgrimage in honor of Mary Co-Redemptrix was held in Italy. Over a thousand pilgrims, including all options, took part in this itinerary which brought them to Milan, Turin, Florence, L’Aquila, Teramo, Rieti and Rome, according to the established program, in order to visit the main shrines.

On May 27, the pilgrims participated in His Holiness Pope John Paul II’s general audience in Saint Peter’s Square. At the end of his allocution and in deference to the Work’s Bishops Protector who are Italian-born, he addressed himself in Italian to the group of the Army of Mary:

“Rivolgo, poi, il mio benvenuto al folto gruppo internazionale dell’“Armée de Marie”, che in questo mese di maggio sta vivendo un intenso itinerario attraverso alcuni Santuari mariani italiani. Lasciatevi sempre educare dalla Madre del Signore, pellegrina della fede e della speranza; portate nei vostri Paesi il tesoro spirituale, che avete accumulato in questi giorni.”

Which is translated in these words:
“I now address a word of welcome to the large international group of the ‘Army of Mary’, which in this month of May, is following an intense itinerary in visiting a number of Italian Marian shrines. Let yourselves always be formed by the Mother of the Lord, the pilgrim of faith and hope. Take back to your countries the spiritual treasure you have acquired during these days.”

Marian throne set up
in honor of the Lady of
All Peoples.

On Sunday, May 31, in the Basilica of Sancta Maria in Rieti, a special ceremony in honor of the Lady of All Peoples was held. It began with the reception of Father Victor Rizzi as Marian Father, succeeding the late Father Philippe Roy whose spiritual son he had been.

This was followed by the entrance of Mother Paul-Marie, on this day when the Army of Mary was solemnly celebrating the fulfillment of the Work of the Lady of All Peoples. In this latter stage of her life, with the thirty-three years of her painful mission having been brought to an end, she expressed her sentiments in a prayer addressed to Mary and to the Father.

Then, it was the founding of the Marialys Institute, fifth and last Work founded by Mother Paul-Marie, to bring together priests faithful to the Holy Father and for the renewal of the youth.
