First Pilgrimage from France to Quebec:

“LIFE OF LOVE”
Quebec, June 30 to July 14, 1981

Pilgrims from France

1981 - The group before the shrine of Our Lady of Etchemin
Lac-Etchemin – The group of 37 French pilgrims
accompanied by a few Knights of Mary from Quebec

On June 30, 1981, thirty-seven pilgrims from France flew over the Atlantic on their way to their destination of Quebec, with one desire in their hearts: to acquire a better knowledge of the foundations of this providential Work known as the “Army of Mary”, to which they belonged.

Thus this pilgrimage entitled “Life of Love” led them to Quebec City where they were pleased to discover where the Foundress lived at the International Center of the Army of Mary. Meetings with the officers allowed for promising exchanges.

Furthermore, informed of the recent founding of the Family of the Sons and Daughters of Mary which had taken place on May 31, some pilgrims requested their admission in it, with the goal of always giving themselves more and more for the good of this Work.

The pilgrims went to Lac-Etchemin where they visited Marie-Paule’s family home and the shrine of Our Lady of Etchemin, a privileged spot chosen by Mary to found her Army.

During their stay in Canada, the first reception of Auxiliary Members in the Family of the Sons and Daughters of Mary was held. Thus did Mother Paul-Marie welcome into this Work the French members who had manifested the desire to enter it.
