APPENDIX - I: My Passion
(August 1980 - June 1985)
Life of Love, Appendix I, entitled My Passion relates the tempests which raged against this Work of Love between August 1980 and June 1985, and the means indicated by heaven to circumvent them and to move forward. The cross purifies, tribulation sanctifies and causes the fruit of apostolate to spring forth.
In her introduction, Marie-Paule writes:
“How is it that God could ask someone to write the story of her own life, and, what is more, to illustrate it? What self-conceit, what pride! – as human wisdom sees it. This has never been seen in the Church, which delays a hundred, two hundred years after a person's death before making known his or her tumultuous and sanctifying life.
“We are at the end of a Time. Those principles of human wisdom could never stand up before the infinite divine wisdom, which in this time is preparing and opening up the ways leading to the Reign of love. The astonishing new ways are always announced beforehand by Heaven, but they are rarely followed, for the world is incapable of tolerating God’s ‘Envoys’. The most convincing proof that God is intervening in His Works is the rejection of the chosen one and the persecution to which the world subjects him or her. This poor world in distress, awaiting a true renewal, does not recognize the Envoy; on the contrary, it hates and scorns him. ‘The servant is not above the Master.’
“Moreover, it is not the recounting of the handmaid's life that is of consequence, but rather Mary’s action in and through her handmaid immolated day after day, so much so that she finally ends up living only through Her, with Her, in Her and for Her.”
