How far will the Immolation announced and accepted by the writer of Life of Love lead her? That is what we will see as we follow her along this disconcerting, painful and at once fulfilling path. This fourth volume begins in May 1988 when the Army of Mary was caught up in a whirlwind of accusations, which inaugurate well the time of immolation the Work must go through. On February 2, 1990, Marie-Paule wrote:
The sufferings, the crosses in so many forms, they are flowers that God holds out to us; and they either bloom and give off their perfume if we willingly accept them, or they fade and die if we turn from the hand offering them to us. (...)
For the Christian enlightened by the glory of the Resurrection, the Cross is no longer a scandal, but a means of realizing Gods plan. The members of the Army of Mary strain towards the summit of the Cross and are on the Cross, for this is the hour of the immolation.
