LIFE OF LOVE - I
|
If the secret of this narrative was jealously guarded, especially in what concerns charisms visions, warnings, commands from heaven, the work to be realized, which is a work of obedience, could not but resound throughout the century, and being, by its very nature, religious, could not but re-echo within the Church. If this Life, over and above its character of intimate configuration, is bound to such an extent to the mystery of this time which is ours, it is certainly because it contains something other than an exemplary teaching; it is also, in itself, a mystery.
We are inclined to believe that a mystery is something which is seen, which imposes itself, which astonishes. But, oh! how little did Jesus, the totality of Mystery, impose Himself! True, His passage did not meet with indifference. He drew to Himself the lowly and He scandalized the great. It was necessary to await the end the very end, i.e., the Resurrection and Pentecost in order, finally, to understand Him.
That was the time of the Redemption: today is the hour of the Co-Redemption.
Now, to the end that the realization may stand forth in total clarity, it will be necessary at this time that the entire route be illumined. All that was a sign all along the route, all the visions and predictions, those jets of light whose flash only deepened the darkness of the night of obedience and self-abandonment yes, all of this and that of a sudden will compel recognition of its meaning and its necessity.
