LIFE OF LOVE - V
|
This celestial phase, in fact, opens precisely on the lovely feast of the EXALTATION OF THE HOLY CROSS (September 14, 1969).
In the evening of [November 21, 1969], I am alone in the front room. Somewhat belatedly, I kneel down, my arms in the form of a cross, to recite the six Paters, Aves and Glorias for the intentions of our Holy Father, Pope Paul VI. I am deep in these prayers, when suddenly the Lord asks me to pronounce my vows. Surprise does not cause me even a moments hesitation. Spontaneously, my arms still outstretched, I pronounce, with joy and love, the three vows as demanded, using the words which will come to my mind: I make the vows of poverty, chastity and obedience for as long as I shall live. Then I finish the Paters, the Aves and the Glorias for the intentions of the Sovereign Pontiff.
This consecration of my life asked for by the Lord at the very moment I am praying for the Pope a prayer also asked for by the Lord is certainly significant. The Lord thus seems to be linking me very closely to the cause of the Holy Father.
Father J.-A. Veilleux, O.M.I. is reading the manuscripts of Life of Love and he sends Marie-Paule his appreciation. Here are his reflections:
The deeper you get into Life of Love, the more profound and stronger is the spirituality. It is as if God were acting within it in order to multiply His directives to the modern world. Your pen flows along, and in depth, with an astonishing facility. Bless the Lord. (July 16, 1970, chapter 52)
